SuperSlab

An engineered concrete raft slab and flooring system that offers real benefits over a conventional concrete slab foundation.

Services for SuperSlab

SuperSlab is an above-ground engineered concrete slab foundation system, commonly known as a raft foundation, pod floor, waffle slab or floating foundation, that delivers real benefits over conventional concrete floors and foundations. It is an advanced concrete slab foundation in New Zealand designed to meet the unique needs of residential, commercial and industrial projects.

CodeMark Compliance Confirmation

This service helps verify that a design or product meets the standards required under the CodeMark certification scheme.

 When you’d need this:

  • You’re using a product or system with CodeMark certification.

  • You need documentation to prove compliance with the NZ Building Code.

  • You want assurance that your design aligns with certified systems, streamlining Building Consent approvals.

CodeMark Drafting Design

This involves preparing plans or details in line with a CodeMark-certified system or product. Our team can assist in drafting compliant layouts, typically focused around foundation and slab systems.

What’s included:

  • Drafted plans aligned to a certified specification.

  • Supporting details required for consent documentation.

  • Collaboration with structural or architectural consultants if needed.

Specific Engineered Slab Design

This is a full engineered slab design, created by a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), and includes a Remote PS4 Inspection, the Producer Statement verifying that the slab was constructed as designed.

What to expect:

  • Customised slab design (e.g., for tricky soil conditions, slope, or load requirements).

  • Engineering calculations and design drawings.

  • Remote inspection (via photos/video) and PS4 issued upon satisfactory completion.

  • Price quote before any commitment is made.

Design Advice (Value Engineering)

Here you get access to expert feedback on your current design, aiming to improve cost-efficiency, buildability, and sustainability, without compromising on performance or compliance.

Examples of advice:

  • Reducing unnecessary reinforcement.

  • Suggesting more efficient construction sequencing.

  • Recommending alternative concrete types or admixtures (e.g., low carbon options).

  • Enhancing thermal or structural performance through smarter material choices.

Materials Takeoff/Quantity Survey (QS)

This provides a breakdown of all materials required based on an existing design, ideal for cost estimating, procurement, and tendering.

What’s included:

  • Full takeoff of concrete volumes, steel reinforcement, and accessories.

  • Excel-friendly breakdowns ready for use by contractors or suppliers.

  • Clarification of waste allowances or standard packaging units where needed.

R-Value Thermal Calculation

This service delivers the calculated thermal resistance (R-value) for concrete slabs or walls, which is crucial for demonstrating compliance with H1 Energy Efficiency requirements in the NZ Building Code.

How it helps:

  • Confirms if insulation is required.

  • Supports consent documentation.

  • Helps specifiers compare different mix designs or construction options (e.g., insulation beneath slabs vs. none).
